Knitting Classes with Patricia Hart

BEGINNER KNITTING:
5 sessions, Saturdays: June 9 to July 7
1:00 - 2:30pm Class Fee: $75

In this introductory couse, you'll learn the basics of Continental knitting including the knit stitch, casting on and casting off, how to create simple patterns such as ribbing and seed. After just a few lessons you'll be able to choose a yarn you love and get started on your first project!
INTERMEDIATE KNITTING:
5 sessions, Sundays: June 3 to July 1
3:00 - 4:30pm Class Fee: $75
Supplies extra
Learn techniques for increasing and decreasing stitches, invisible seaming, blocking, finishing, cables, reading patterns, fixing mistakes, buttonholes, and more. Basic knitting skills and supplies required.
BABY SWEATER - My First Sweater:
6 sessions, Saturdays: May 19 - June 23
3:00 - 4:30pm Class Fee: $90

Knit an easy & adorable baby cardigan while learning skills you can use on any size sweater, including: following a pattern, getting gauge, picking up stitches for knitted-on button band, buttonholes, shaping sleeves, increasing and decreasing, invisible seaming, and more. Basic knitting skills and supplies required.
WRIST WARMERS:
Knitting Round and Round
2 sessions: Sundays June 3 to 10
1:00 - 2:30pm Class Fee: $45
Master the mystique of double-pointed needles while making very simple wrist warmers (fingerless gloves) with a yarn of your choice. You'll learn the skills needed for any seamless projects like socks, mittens, and hats. Basic knitting skills and supplies required.
TRAINING SOCK:
Get Your Skills in Shape
4 sessions: Sundays June 17 to July 8
1:00 - 2:30pm Class Fee:$65
Dreaming of knitting socks but feeling a little intimidated? No worries! Gain confidence and master all the tricky bits by making a small Training Sock first, using larger needles and thicker yarn. You'll learn heel flap stitches, short-row shaping, picking up, toe grafting, and more. Basic knitting and double-pointed needle skills required. (Wrist Warmer Course will provide DPN skills). Supplies required.
FINISHING WORKSHOP
1 session:
Saturday May 26 1:00 - 2:30pm
OR
Saturday July 7 3:00-4:30pm
Class Fee: $35
Learn techniques for invisible seaming and dealing with all those pesky loose ends of yarn so that your knitted garment will be beautifully finished inside and out. Also included: blocking and picking up stitches. Basic knitting skills and supplies required.
CABLING WORKSHOP
1 session Saturday June 2
1:00 - 2:30pm Class Fee: $25
Love all those beautiful twirling cables but think they must be really difficult to do? They’re actually very easy and after taking this class, you’ll want to search out those fun projects with cables, so you can show off your new technique! Basic skills and supplies required.
