October, 2015

I can't believe it is already October.  September came and went so quickly..too quickly.  Time to clean up the garden and get all the spring flower bulbs planted out.  It is also time to get going on your holiday knitting (if you haven't already).  In the shop we are loving all the fall yarns and books, and going crazy trying to decide what to knit first!

We have some new books to inspire you this season, like this one: Botanical Knits 2 by Alana Dakos.

In this follow up to Botanical Knits, the collection in book 2 features traveling cables, organic textured stitches, and lacy stitch patterns.  Designs include four sweaters and eight accessories.

Thicket Hat

Twigs and Willow Mitts

The new book by Loop of London, "Loop 10" has arrived.
Twelve patterns celebrating ten fabulous years of Loop London.  In collaboration with independent designers and yarn dyers who have been involved with loop over a decade, this book features twelve patterns including shawls, scarves, mitts and sweaters.

Rosemaling Mitts by Tif Fussel
Beautiful mitts using a worsted weight yarn with a simple crochet edge, and easy embroidery stitching.  I'm thinking these are the perfect Christmas gift for someone special!

  Isokon Mitts by Ysolda Teague
Strong geometeric lines form the basis of these understated mitts with clever shaping that follows the contour of the palm.

Islington Shawl by Kirsten Kapur
This pattern plays with contrast, pairing instricate stitches with bold stripes.
