October, 2011

I can't believe it is already October.  September came and went so quickly..too quickly.  Time to clean up the garden and get all the spring flower bulbs planted out.  In the shop we are loving all the fall yarns and books, and going crazy trying to decide what to knit first!

It is hat and sweater season and there are some beautiful
new patterns available

The new Classic Elite Mountain Top Yarns are absolutely beautiful.  They are all spun with natural undyed fibers.  This is the Highland Fling Shawl from the Crestone & Vista book.  I knit it with CEY Vista yarn color 6003 Ash.  I loved knitting this shawl because the border is knit at the same time as the body of the shawl, so no picking up stitches later!

These hats are wonderful and are knit with the new Mountain Top Yarns by Classic Elite

Julie knit the beautiful shawl with Classic Elite Alpaca Sox yarn.  She used 2 skeins.  The pattern is inside the new Vogue Knitting Fall 2011 magazine.  Absolutely beautiful!

Julie's ABC Basso Cowl is so funky and different.  It is knit with Schulana's Basso yarn.  The horseshoe lace pattern is perfect for this lush cowl and shoulder cozy.  Pattern is available in the store.

Bind off stitches in rib.

To finish:
With the right side facing you, fold the bottom 2/3 of your panel towards the top and sew up the side seams.  Turn your piece right side out and stuff the pillow.  Take the remaining 1/2 of the panel and fold it over to create the top flap. Sew the remaining side seams.  Evenly space and sew the buttons onto the pillow front.

These red mitts are knit with CEY Toboggan Yarn.
