August, 2011

I can't believe August has arrived.  The weather has been beautiful and the garden is bursting with goodness.  Little Lil loves patrolling the garden, making sure no deer or birds eat her bounty.  The romaine lettuce has done really well - it's taller than Lily!

We have a new baby arriving in the family, so knitting a baby hat was a must.  I knit this one from Sirdar's Baby Bamboo, col. 122.  You can find the free pattern here:  http://www.gsheller.com/2009/08/story-of-hat.html

Here is a great little bag to hold your knitting or needlework project.  It comes in great colors and the embroidered sheep on the bottom add a nice touch.

This cowl is knit with Schoppel Wolle's, "In Silk" yarn.  It is a slightly felted mix of wool and silk that knits to approx. 4.5 sts per inch.  One skein makes this lush cowl.  Find the free pattern at http://www.skacelknitting.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.51612/.f

Make sure you stop by to check out all our great new patterns and yarns.  The fall yarns are starting to arrive, and provide the knitter with great color and texture.  Come be inspired for your next project.
